Well Canoneers, it’s been a busy three months, and now it’s time for your blog mistresses to take a little vacation. Over the next week and a half, we’ll be enjoying leisurely lunches at chain restaurants, spending time with our respective families and picking out New Year’s outfits (like, multiple outfits for each of us). We’ll be back the first Monday in January with daily posts.
We couldn’t have come this far without the support and enthusiasm of our readers, our commentors and, most of all, our contributors. We hope that more of you will contribute posts in the new year – you don’t have to be a practiced writer or a noted feminist theorist to do so.
Our focus, as always, is on books by women and the experiences of reading and writing as women. But we also welcome posts on films. And other forms of media and art, or general life experiences, that revolve around language. We examine everything through a feminist lens, and we hope to include more productive and thoughtful discussions about race, class, sexual orientation and any number of identities that intersect with gender. We hope that feminists – of all ages – who haven’t yet seen themselves represented in our posts will chose to write for us.
Don’t hesitate to email us your ideas and your posts – we quite literally couldn’t keep Canonball going without your input and without the community you’ve help us to create.
